Project Description:
> ESL Listening comprehesnsion project

I am preparing the listening material for an english as a second
language course.

I am in the process of creating at least 40 listening comprehension pieces.

For this purpose I am going to use some private label material.

I need to create 3 multiple choice listening comprehesnion items (preferably recorded with audacity)

I would use short talks (private label audios have already been already bought)
and I have to create 3 multiple choice questions for each
short talk (short talks are no more than 200 words each). Each question
would have 4 answers and only one of them must be correct.

The private label material (approximately 200-250 words) is
the material on which the questions are based.

Example:

Audio Script for questions 71-73

Coming into view is one of the most prominent buildings in the old town, the House of the Seven Doors. Built in the early 1800s, the house earns its name from seven magnificently carved wooden doors. Doors were often the first part of the house to be constructed because the door stood as a symbol of status and prosperity of the household. The elaborate carvings on each of the seven doors represent trade products, such as sugar, spices, cofee and tea.

71. Where would this talk most likely be heard?
(A) On a construction site
(B)In a warehouse
(C) On a city tour
(D) In a store

72. When was the building constructed?
(A) After 1900
(B) Between 1850 and 1900
(C) Before 1800
(D) Between 1800 and 1850

73. What is the unique feature of the building?

(A) The magnificent view
(B) The wood work on its doors
(C) Its outdoor pool
(D) Its seven floors

Justifiying the Answers

71. C
The speaker describes the facade of a historical building on a city tour. Since the talk takes place outside, it is not (B) in a warehouse or (D) in a store. Although she mentions the building construction, they are not on (A) a construction site.

72. D
The early 1800s refers to the first years or decades of the 19th century and not (A) to a date in the 20th century or (B) in the second half of the 19th century or (C) to a date of the 18th century.

73. B
The speaker highlights the carved wooden doors. (A) the speaker says that the building is coming into view but does not mention the view from the building. (C) There is no mention of an outdoor pool. (D) The building has seven doors, not seven floors.

Notes:

a) The Justifiying of the Answers should be in writing only (don’t need to record).

b) The questions and the 4 multiple choice answers should be integrated with the audio script which I will provide.
