I am a freelance translator/interpreter of Turkish and English languages, translating/interpreting (both face to face and telephone) in Legal, Health, Public Services, Political, Financial, Commercial, Automotive and IT (qualified as a computer programmer in Turkey and UK) fields with Local Authorities, police, courts (Ministry of Justice Tribunals Service, Asylum and Immigration Tribunal) and various translation agencies and commercial companies, for contract negotiations, face-to-face contact, factory visit, trade shows, business meetings, product lunches, voice-overs, film subtitles, medico-legal reports, website translation and software localisation. I have over 18 years of experience as a freelance and in-house translator/interpreter (in house for London Borough of Enfield) along with a BSc degree in Economics, MA in Theory and Practice of Translation and two Diplomas in Public Service Interpreting. I also have completed 2 days simultaneous interpreting workshop organised by the ITI in May 2004 and worked in December 2004 for European Commission, in May 2008 for GM and Toyota as simultaneous conference interpreter respectively in Brussels, Cologne and London.
As a translator I have Windows Vista Ultimate and Apple Mac OSX Panther systems modified for Turkish language, along with various software including Trados since 1999.
My computer hardware includes a 3.2 GHz speed Xenon processor and 32 Gb ram server capacity rendering work station, 2x500GB external backup facility, 20Mb ADSL internet connection with virus protection security centre and Firewalls. I also have similar complete system as a back up so I work with no down time.
I am also a full member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CloL) and the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI).
